Casa 28 Mexican Grill Reviews
I recently had the pleasure of eating some fresh flavorful Mexican dishes from Casa 28 Mexican Grill! Last night I enjoyed the Camarones A la Diabla entree for dinner. It was stewed shrimp with onions and tomatoes in a chipotle sauce that had a nice kick! That was the second shrimp meal I had from them in as many days lol! The night before I had the Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo entree which is shrimp in garlic sauce! I forgot to take a picture of it. Both dishes had savory flavors and come with a small salad and tasty tostones! I like how fresh their food tastes and it's cooked to order. Today I had the BBQ Guajillo Pork Ribs which were tender baby back ribs in a tangy sauce! I was so hungry I dug in without taking a picture first again! I've also had their street tacos which are also tasty. I'm not a big corn tortilla fan, but can eat theirs by themselves! Their salsa verde and rojo taste homemade. They are saucy and have great flavor as well. It's hard to find to good homemade salsas these days and theirs definitely hit the spot for me! Next time I will remember to take pictures of all the food before I eat it lol! They are my new go to Mexican spot! A big shout out to the guy at the counter who takes/gives you the order! He's always pleasant, gives service with a smile, and gives me extra sauces when I ask for them!
Amazing food. Highly recommend. In a little strip mall, don't let that fool you!! Food is really good, fast friendly service. Will definitely be back!
I was a bit skeptical when my friend suggested Mexican food...in Florida. As a born and raised Californian, my expectations for Mexican food are pretty high. Luckily my friend made an excellent selection and I was pleasantly surprised. Right when we walked in we could smell some super delicious food--always a good sign. The staff was very attentive and the ambience of the restaurant was a bit basic, but I appreciate the authentic decor! I had the fajitas and a margarita. The fajitas and tortillas were solid 4 stars--fresh and good! The guacamole appetizer was also very good!! My margarita hit the spot but definitely was out of a bottle, so it tasted a bit generic. The chips also seemed generic. But the beans and rice were pretty good. Overall 4 satisfying stars!
Love Love Love the New Casa 28 Mexican Grill! Moi was out fannying about when I saw a very familiar sign, yeah, looked like a Margarita sign to me Ole! haha. Shocked! I did not think I would find good Mexican food in St Pete, Florida. Thank God I was completely wrong OuiOui. Set up like a bar, they also offer wings & pizza. They even make their own pizza dough. They also have a full bar with an espresso maker. They offer espresso & cappuccinos etc., We were Jamin during lunch. They play very good upbeat dance mix music, Spanish & American club music. It's very new & super clean, the space is super cute too with a "La vie en rose" pink wall. haha.
